The focus of The Customer Success Forum on LinkedIn is on the design, building, and ongoing management of effective Customer Success groups. All submitted topics are reviewed, and only those that are in alignment with our focus are published. What does that mean for you? A lot, if you set the configuration up correctly.
Unlike too many other groups on LinkedIn, our volume of topics is curated and therefore manageable. You don’t have to worry about saving something the instant you see it out of fear that if you don’t, you won’t ever be able to find it again amidst the flood of largely irrelevant noise. That means that you can safely set your preferences so that you are notified of All new posts.
Up at the top of the middle column of the Forum, there is a bell icon. Click on it, and you will see three choices under the heading: Manage notifications about The Customer Success Forum. Your options are: All, Most Relevant, and Off. This setting applies only to The Customer Success Forum. Please select All. (Note that you’ll want to check on your settings for all other Groups that you’e a member of to make sure that they are what you want. (For most, that will be either Most Relevant or Off, depending on the volume of posts in each of those groups.)
Next, you’ll need to update your general LinkedIn preferences on notifications. To do this, click on Me in the LinkedIn banner menu, go to your Settings & Privacy, and click on Notifications at the bottom of the menu. Then click on Groups, and make sure that Allow Group Notifications is On. Allow All Group Updates, and All Group Recommendations. Please also allow All Group Admin Updates. This gives you the best chance of being notified whenever there is a new topic published here, or if I Recommend a topic as being especially valuable.
The Recommended Posts functionality has unfortunately been “improved,” with the result that the weekly email doesn’t reliably go out to everyone regardless of your switch settings. This is why I recommend that you set our group up to receive in-app alerts of all new posts in the Forum. It’s also why I have created the Customer Success Executive Mailing List.
